Pick and Choose Life Inc, 501c3 non profit
Lighthouse Residential is a program under Pick and Choose Life, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It was established to address the need for a residential program in Jacksonville, FL, providing care for children who have experienced trauma. Our program serves children who have been in the foster system, adopted, or faced past childhood trauma, helping them navigate challenges in adapting to family life.
We are committed to supporting children requiring mental health counseling to heal, grow, and thrive. Our staff is fully trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), ensuring a safe, nurturing environment with full-time coaching, counseling, and guidance. Our goal is to equip children with essential tools to process their emotions in a healthy way, preparing them for a successful transition back into their home environment.
Anchored Academy, a Christian private school located on campus, will provide children with an academic education tailored to their unique needs. In partnership with Dr. Tim Conway and The Morris Center, we offer a proven program designed to rewire the brain and help reverse learning disabilities and diagnoses.
Beacon of Hope Church will serve as a guiding light, helping children navigate past trauma and embark on a journey of spiritual healing through Jesus Christ. Through chapel services and pastoral care, we are dedicated to restoring the mind, body, soul, and spirit.
Residential Housing
Up to 12 girls per house, 7 bedrooms, with House Parents. Daily devotionals in the morning and sitting at the table as a family every evening to break bread together. The goal is to train and prepare the child to reunify with their families for a more successful transition.
Anchored Academy
Individualized education with Christian Homeschool curriculum, focusing on education with the understanding of their traumas.
The Morris Center
Clinical Program to reverse diagnoses and trauma by reprogramming the brain.
Mental Health Counseling
Individualized treatment plans, group counseling, and parent counseling. Graduated program, celebrating the small wins to overall healing and preparing for returning to their families.
Beacon of Hope Church
Proving hope for the soul through Christian ministry, leading the children to our one true savior Jesus Christ, learning and accepting the love of the father, trust in the Lord, and hope for a better future.
Food Pantry
Giving back to the community, the girls serve monthly providing a way to share the love of christ by serving others. The pantry also supports The Lighthouse residential program feeding up to 24 girls in the program.
Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)
TBRI is a trauma informed intervention that is designed for children who come from hard places such as maltreatment, abuse, neglect, multiple home placements, and violence. All staff are trained to help equip the children for a successful future.
