Our Story
The Lighthouse Residential was birthed out of years of prayer & struggle after an international adoption. We struggled as a family of 5 to adjust to a child of trauma entering "normal" family, that didn't know what "normal" was. It came to the point where we felt we needed a safe place to help with the transition, where she can get healing for her trauma from professionals, learn to live in a home environment, learn authority, learn that chores are "normal" all in preparation of returning back to the home environment with the family.
After many years of struggles, we struggled to find a Christian Residential program that could help her heal through professional environment, with the same christian values, with the intention of coming back home.
We laid on the floor and begged God for an answer, what do we do? We hired a consultant to help us find a residential program that would accept her and we learned how much demand there was for such a program.
We had over 100 doors shut in our face, from either $30K a month out of pocket, to only having beds for state/foster children, not accepting our insurance, or quite frankly there were not enough beds or the only places were across the country but had long wait lists.
We felt hopeless, and cried out for help. God said, "Create the solution". I equipped you as an entrepreneur with a heart for other families going through the same thing.
Therefore, Lighthouse Residential has been birthed in Jacksonville, FL with plans to multiply and grow to multiple campuses. God provided the location, the right staff, and now we pray for the right students.
If you're a family, praying for a solution, I encourage you today to apply and share your story. We believe children with trauma can be healed, but it takes time, and full time support in which some families don't have the bandwith and there is NO shame for that.
"16This is what the LORD says: “Keep your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for the reward for your work will come, declares the LORD. Then your children will return from the land of the enemy. 17So there is hope for your future, declares the LORD, and your children will return to their own land." Jeremiah 31: 16-17
Our Team
Through much prayer, the Lord has brought this amazing team of staff to all rally behind the success of the children and family. All are spirit filled christian believers who have a heart for the orphan. All called in their special fields, we believe this team will treat your child as one of our own. All staff are required to be certified with TBRI and security protocols for a safe environment for all.
